U.S. News & World ReportDrury University OverviewFrom day one, Drury students are asked to go beyond the ordinary small college experience by engaging in research and scholarship with faculty members, and seeking real world knowledge and activities that will prepare them for the challenges of 21st century leadership. This is a distinct and rare advantage; one that speaks to Drury's singular approach to teaching students to blend career, calling, life, community, self and service to gain a broader perspective on the world. Drury is also a place where students know their professors as well as their classmates, which creates a strong sense of culture and community that transcends the classroom. Drury is quickly approaching its 150th year of educating the best and brightest in the Show-Me state's premier college town, Springfield, Missouri. A designated "Tree Campus," Drury is an oasis within a fast-growing city where students are involved with local businesses (Bass Pro Shops, O'Reilly Auto Parts) and non-profits (Chocolate University, Convoy of Hope) making a difference in myriad ways. A big-city feel with the warmth of a small community, Springfield offers no shortage of coffee shops, food trucks, eateries and outdoor activities from hiking to kayaking and biking. It was also named the 3rd best city in the nation to start a business.Drury's academic offerings include all the majors you would expect to find (business, pre-med, education, English, biology, psychology, etc.), along with a host of programs that draw students from across the nation such as; music therapy, cybersecurity, computer game design, and a nationally recognized, five-year architecture program that requires a study-abroad semester and awards a master's degree upon completion. Our 1,425 undergraduate day school students come to Drury from 30 states and more than 50 countries. More than 30% of students have multiple majors and minors. These double- and triple-majors are integrated into the student experience, encompassing all areas of personal interest to create a customized learning environment. As a result, Drury graduates go on to reach their full potential. In fact, 97% of graduates are employed, in graduate school or not seeking employment/education within six months of graduation. At Drury, you will catch Scarlet (and Gray) Fever and will quickly find yourself cheering for our NCAA-II Panthers, one of the top D-II leagues in the nation, with 17 Division II sports and six non-NCAA sports. Drury's swimming program has had eight student-athletes represent their respective countries in the Olympic Games.
