Lebanon Valley College offers a practical, personal education that prepares smart, hard-working undergraduate and graduate students for personal and career success. This approach leads to a graduation rate among the top 10% of all schools in the U.S. Our expert staff in the Edward and Lynn Breen Center for Graduate Success works with students starting their first week to help them achieve their educational and professional goals. With a 10-1 faculty-student ratio, there's no back of the classroom at LVC. Recently, six LVC students were named Fulbrights with awards taking them to Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Malaysia, South Korea, and Wales. Other prestigious recent student awards include an Eben Tisdale Fellowship, Thomas R. Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship, Fund for Education Abroad Scholarship (China), NCAA Post-graduate Fellowships, and National Institute of Standards and Technology Fellowship. Among the college's hallmark programs are actuarial science, which has one of the top exam-pass rates in the country; health professions programs including a doctorate in physical therapy, communication sciences & disorders with a master's in speech language pathology, a master's in athletic training, and undergraduate degrees in chemistry, biology, biochemistry & molecular biology, and exercise science; digital communications program focused on improving human experiences; a criminal justice program focused on reducing incarceration rates and community policing; and a music education program that produces more graduates than any other private college in Pennsylvania. New offerings include analytic finance, an accounting 3+1 MBA, international business, music business, environmental science, and interaction & experience design. All are rooted in broad-based liberal learning, and faculty get to know their students personally as they mentor them in class and through research and creative projects outside of class. Online courses and student-faculty research are available to undergraduates in the summer. LVC is known for its helpful and kind atmosphere, where students embrace their multiple interests and talents through activities such as Pride of The Valley marching band, Dutchmen NCAA Division III athletics, varsity intercollegiate esports program (first in Pennsylvania), Wig & Buckle Theater Company productions, student government, inclusion and diversity activities, service work and volunteerism, and VALE student-run music label. Students get hands-on experiences in preparation for their careers through intensive scientific research, fieldwork, and classroom experiences with professors who actively work in their fields. Some students even participate in research with their faculty during the summer before their freshman year through the Research First program. They have interned in the fields of juvenile probation, palliative care, teaching, finance, actuarial science, marketing, design, drug rehabilitation, immigration, and adoption. Eighty-six percent of recent graduates reported being employed or enrolled in graduate school within one year of graduation. Alumni say the college taught them to think analytically and critically, write and speak clearly and effectively, and work effectively with others. They go into fields as diverse as neurodiagnostics, school psychology, medicine, chemistry, social work, teaching, engineering, special education, pharmaceuticals, business, music, art, and more. Students learn on LVC's beautiful campus in historic Annville, Pa., about 10 miles from Hershey, half hour from the state capital of Harrisburg, and within three hours of Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, D.C. The College just completed the Jeanne and Edward H. Arnold Health Professions Pavilion, which provides students with advanced learning spaces including a Human Anatomy Lab and a Human Performance Lab.
